Reception have been superstars all week and today they got to make gingerbread men, as well as enjoying the story together. This activity linked in with their maths learning of the numbers 1 (mouth), 2 (eyes) and 3 (buttons). They enjoyed it so much, that many of them went on to act out the story themselves when it was time for them to choose their own learning. They decided which character they were going to be from the story and then were trying to catch the one who was the ‘gingerbread man’, chanting, “Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man!” It was so lovely to see.
