The mixed age planning scheme provides teachers with comprehensive planning materials for each lesson including teaching resources, detailed planning guidance and children\u2019s task sheets, including deeper learning tasks to challenge more able mathematicians. EYFS continue to use NCETM Mastering Number and White Rose planning and resources. Years 1 and 2 use the Red Rose planning scheme. Leaders are ensuring that consistency and progression of knowledge is sequenced from EYFS to the end of year 6.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-87beb0d0 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-container-content-9cfa9a5a\"><br>Pupils are taught through whole-class interactive teaching, enabling all to master the concepts necessary for the next part of the curriculum sequence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size\"><br>In a typical lesson, the teacher leads back and forth interaction, including questioning, short tasks, explanation, demonstration, and discussion, enabling pupils to think, reason and apply their knowledge to solve reasoning and thinking effectively.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size\"><br>If a pupil fails to grasp a concept or procedure, this is identified quickly, and gaps in understanding are addressed systematically to prevent them falling behind.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-container-content-9cfa9a5a\"><br><br>Significant time is spent developing deep understanding of the key ideas that are needed to underpin future learning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size\"><br><br>Key number facts are learnt to automaticity, and other key mathematical facts are learned deeply and practised regularly, to avoid cognitive overload in working memory and enable pupils to focus on new
