Newsletter, 22nd June

Dear Parents

BLP for next week – Revising.

School meals

Next week will be week 1 menu

Please note all pre-chosen meals will not be able to be amended on the day.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast club continues to run from 8am – £3 per child, per day. We are also offering to have children from 8:30am (with no breakfast) for £1.50 per child, per day.
Could we please remind you, that wherever possible, payment must be received either in advance or on the day, as Mrs Kenyon is trying to balance this on a weekly basis. Thank you.

After School Club

Following our previous letter, we have decided to give this a go! This will start on Monday 10th September from 3:25 – 5:30, with each half hour slot costing £1.50. If you need to use this club from Wednesday 5th September, please let us know as soon as possible. It would help us to have names, in advance, of pupils who are going to use this facility, as we need to get a register organised and purchase the snacks.
Payment for the after school club will be required in advance or at the latest on the day (preferably in a named envelope). Envelopes are still available in the school office priced £1 for 50. Thank you.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The law changed on 25th May regarding GDPR. Paperwork was sent home before the break. It is very important that it is signed and returned to school as soon as possible, there are still quite a few outstanding forms not back in school.
Please note, on the data contact sheets, you need to get each contact to sign by their details, as consent for us to hold the information on file.

School Lottery

Last week’s winner was Mr Moore.

This draw is open to everyone all over the country; it would be wonderful if you could ask friends or family if they would like to join. As well as a guaranteed weekly school winner, there is also a chance of
winning £25000 in the national draw every week. The more tickets we sell, the higher the prize money.
If you have not yet bought your ticket, or your debit card payment has finished, the link to register is http://www.yourschoollottery.co.uk/lottery/school/altham-st-james-c-of-e-primary-school if you join in
the Summer term there is a chance to win one of 5 £50 restaurant vouchers.
Please note, as this has turned out to be a major fundraiser in our school year, we have decided not to ask for the school funds anymore. Thank you.

Non-Uniform day Friday 22nd June

Thank you for all your chocolate & sweets donations today, once again we are overwhelmed with your generosity.

Afternoon Tea & Sponsored mile

We have a very busy week next week with, the infant trip on Wednesday, the afternoon tea from 2-4pm on Thursday and our sponsored mile event on Friday afternoon. Letters were sent home last week regarding the afternoon tea as have sponsor forms have been sent home to! We would welcome any donations of buns or cakes for the afternoon tea. There will be a bottle tombola, a chocolate tombola, a raffle, a lucky dip, and ice creams and refreshments .
Damian Sweeney will run the event on Friday and all children will bring home a slip showing the amount of laps they have done. All monies raised from these events will be used in school to improve your child’s learning environment. Thank you.

Ice Pops

Ice pops are still on sale, for 20p each, at every afternoon break during the Summer term. If you find it easier, please send in £1 for the week or £4 for rest of term. (Preferably in a named envelope). Thank you.
