Dear Parents

School Dinners

Next week will be week 2 on the new menu.

BLP – next week is imagining.

Fundraising

We have applied to have a modular classroom at school. If this application is successful we will need to make a contribution towards the cost and furnish it. We also want to maintain all the little extras we provide to enhance the children’s education. Therefore we are having a fundraising push at the moment- thank you for all your support.

School Lottery

At last count we have 27 tickets bought with 18 supporters- our aim is to increase this to at least 50 tickets. If you were thinking of registering and have just not got round to it please do so as soon as possible!
The first draw we can take part in will be 10th June; the last day to register for this draw will be 7th June. The link to register is;

http://www.yourschoollottery.co.uk/lottery/school/altham-st-james-c-of-e-primary-school

We need to try and get 50 tickets for each draw as this will bring in £1000 per year for school funds. Tickets are £1 each, school will receive 40% of tickets sold and 36% goes towards funding the prizes.
The draw is also open to your friends and family all over the country, so please spread the word and help us raise money for our school. There is also an offer for this term of a chance to win one of 4 Kindle readers. Thank you.

£1 SQUARE FOR HALF TERM DRAW

The next £1 square draw is now available, there are 17 squares left. The 1 st prize is a £20 meal voucher for The Spice Lounge in Rishton, 2nd prize Tesco Cosmos planter, 3rd prize Lily O’Brien’s chocolates. Thank you

Life Education

This excellent facility will be visiting school on Thursday 25th May and will be paid for through school fund. It deals with healthy life styles including drugs, smoking, and alcohol awareness, bullying and self esteem. All children will be on it for one, age-appropriate session. You should have received a separate leaflet about this; however if you wish to see the facility for yourself, you are invited on board the van at 8:55am on Thursday 25 th May. Thank you.

Summer lunch

Order forms have gone out for the juniors this week for a special Summer lunch which is being held next Thursday 18th May. We have to let the school kitchen know numbers on Monday, the infants have already been asked for their choices. Thank you.

Free School Meals

Is your child entitled to free school meals?
Are you aware funding for each child registered and entitled to FSM attracts a pupil premium of £1300 for school? This in turn could mean better resources and more teaching support for your child. If you require an application form ask at the office. Thank you.

Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment Scheme

We have registered on this site to use resources and to try and win some new equipment. Please follow the link below and nominate us as that may help us win more prizes. Thank you.
