Newsletter, 24th Feb 17

Dear Parents

Please send in a strong carrier bag with your child/children next week, as we will be sending home workbooks no longer needed in school. Thank you.
BLP next week is collaboration.

School Dinners

Next week the menu will be week 3.

Thursdays in Lent

Next week we begin our Lent services.
Each Thursday morning, school will meet at church for our series of Lent Services. There will be a member of staff at the church gates to meet the children and supervise them from 8.50am. Please do not deliver your children to school as there will be no one there on Thursdays. After the brief service, we will walk the children back to school for normal lessons. You are more than welcome to attend these services, and the church is kindly offering tea, coffee and biscuits after the children have left to any parents who attend.
On Thursday 30th March the Open the Book Team will also be in church and we will have our Easter service. Thank you.

SIAMS (Church School) Inspection

Many thanks to all who were able to come and support the Open the Book assembly and the Angel service yesterday. The children were brilliant as usual and the SIAMS inspector was very impressed. As with the OFSETD inspection, we are not allowed to say how we went on until the report comes out.
As soon as this is available we will let you have a copy.

KS2 Play ‘The Ides of March’

On Wednesday 15th March our junior children will be performing the Ides of March. If anyone has any unwanted cream sheets which could be used for Togas or old cord/braiding that could be used to tie the Togas, we would be grateful if you could send them into school. Thank you.

Safety in the school yard before & after school.

Could we please ask that parents do not let their children play with balls or get any out of the storage box, either before or after school? Also, please remind the children to be aware of small children and their parents in the yard before and after school. Thank you.

Uniform

Letters have gone out this week regarding the new uniform. Attached to this letter is also a slip with further information in reply to some of your questions so far. We would appreciate your replies and comments as soon as possible. Thank you.

Bag2School

Just to give you some advanced notice, we will be doing another Bag2School collection after the Easter break on 25th April. Please save any unwanted clothes, paired shoes, hats, bags, belts, ties and soft toys. The collection bags should be arriving in school the week commencing 27th March and we will send them home as soon as possible. Remember, we get paid by the weight so every little will help.
