Dear Parents

Welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all.

We have had a lovely start to the new term with the receipt of our Ofsted report. Copies were sent home, 1 per family, on Monday. If you did not receive a copy please see the school office or the report is avaliable to view on the website Here.

BLP – next week is reasoning.

School Dinners

Next week the menu will be week 3.

Line Markings & Keeping Children Safe

The lines outside school have been extended by LCC. Could we please remind everyone not to obstruct the neighbours gates when parking their cars?
Also, for your child’s safety, would you use the smaller gate to arrive and leave school, if the main gates have been closed, please do not open them to walk through. Thank you.

After School Football

Please ensure that your child has an outdoor kit, as, if the weather is dry, training will take place on the yard. Thank you.

After School Guitar Lessons

Just a reminder that there are spaces available for pupils in Year 2 and above to have guitar lessons after school on a Monday. The lessons are arranged through Lancashire Music Service and are taken by Mr Bird, the cost per lesson is presently £6. Please contact the school office if your child is interested. Thank you.

Message from Revd Toby….

Angels Service

It was fantastic to welcome so many children and parents to our trial ‘all age worship service’ back in November. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, so we have decided to make this a monthly event with the name ‘The Angels Service’. The service will be held in the school hall, normally on the last Thursday of each month – see the dates below. Refreshments will be available from 3:30 with the service beginning at 3:40 and ending at 4:30 prompt. There will be a mix of singing, stories, prayers, craft and other activities. We hope that the worship will engage those of all ages and that parents come ready to join in! Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Grandparents, younger siblings, etc are all welcome too. There will be a retiring collection and we would encourage a minimum donation of £1 per family.

Dates for this term are:

  • Thursday 26 January – ‘Listening’
  • Thursday 23 February – ‘Sacrifice/Lent’
  • Thursday 23 March – Mothering Sunday

Hopefully we’ll see you there!
From Revd Toby and the Angels Service Team
