Dear Parents

 

Thank you to everyone who spoke to the Ofsted inspector or completed any of the Ofsted forms on line. Due to Ofsted protocol, we are not allowed to discuss the findings of the inspection until we receive the report and, as we are so close to Christmas, this may not be until the New Year.
However, as soon as we do receive it, we will pass it on to you.

School Dinners

Next week the menu will be week 1.
Please note next week, as Christmas lunch is on Friday 16th the fish and pizza choice will be on Thursday 15th December instead.

 

Keeping Children safe

Please for your child’s safety would you use the smaller gate to arrive and leave school. Thank you.

 

Christmas Lunch and Party Day

Christmas lunch day is Friday 16th December, (also Christmas jumper day) – if your child does not usually stay for school dinner and would like a Christmas dinner, please complete the attached slip and send in £2.20 for this as soon as possible.
The Christmas party lunch will be held on Wednesday 21st December (this will be instead of the usual school dinner). Again, if your child does not usually have a school dinner, but would like to join in with the Christmas Party lunch, please complete the attached slip and send in £2.20 as soon as possible.
They will not need a packed lunch on this day.
Please note infant meals are free it is just the juniors that will need to pay.Thank you.

 

Christmas Jumper Day

Next Friday is also Christmas jumper day and we will be accepting donations for Save the Children. Please do not go to any expense and buy a new jumper, tips on decorating your own old jumpers can be found at christmasjumperday.org/schools-pack. Children do not need to wear their school uniform on this day.

 

Family Christmas Service

There will be a special childrens Christmas service at Altham St James Church this Sunday 11th December at 9:30am. The service will be a birthday party to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Please come along and bring a friend.

 

Altham Parish Tree Lighting

This event takes place tomorrow, 10 th December from 2pm – 9pm, outside Media House on Burnley Road. Our school choir will be singing at 3pm, if your child is in the choir they will need to wear school uniform please. There will be many stalls and activities to join with. Please go along and show your support. Thank you.

 

Christmas Play

We are in need of any old school trousers or shorts for costumes for our Christmas play. If you have any of these, which you wouldn’t mind being cut up, please send in to school as soon as possible.
Please note, both performances will begin at 1:45. Thank you.

 

FUNDRAISING

Squares are still available for £1 each, to win various prizes including a 1.5 litre bottle of prosecco, a tub of Celebrations and a family pass to Thornton Hall Farm. We are limited to 70 squares. Please come to the school office if you would like to buy a square!

  • Saturday 10th December – Altham Parish tree lighting, children in the school choir to wear uniform please.
  • Sunday 11th December – Childrens Christmas Service at Altham St James Church 9:30am
  • Thursday 15th December – Churches Together Carol Concert to be held at 7pm in St Marys Church, Clayton le Moors.
  • Friday 16th December – School Christmas Dinner Day and Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day.
  • Monday & Tuesday 19th & 20th December 1:45 start – Christmas play.
  • Wednesday 21st December –. Children do not need to wear their school uniform on this day. Breakfast with Santa 8:15am, please send replies by next Wednesday 14 th December Christmas party and early closure at 1:30pm.
