Dear Parents
Building Learning Power (BLP)
Next week the word of the week will be questioning.
Next week we will be on week 2 on the menu sheets
Bag 2 School
Thank you for all who donated bags, there was approximately 280 kilos. The gentleman that collected them was very pleased and said an average collection is 250 kilos, so for a small school we have done really well. The bags have been taken back to the depot for sorting and we will receive a cheque in due course for the school council.
Tuesdays in Lent
Reminder – school will meet at church for our series of Lent Services. There will be a member of staff at the church gates to meet the children and supervise them from 8.50am. Please do not deliver your children to school as there will be no one there on Tuesdays. After the brief service, we will walk the children back to school for normal lessons. You are more than welcome to attend these services, and the church is kindly offering tea, coffee and biscuits after the children have left to any parents who attend.
There will be different arrangements for the week commencing 21st March as there will be no Tuesday service this week. On Thursday 24 th March, at 2:15, there will be an Easter service in church to which family and friends are welcome. Children then need to be picked up from church. Thank you.
Open the book
Members of the open the book team provided tea and coffee for parents in the school playground before school on Thursday and then everyone was invited into school to watch their assembly. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend. The open the book team come into school every month to act out bible stories and the children really enjoy and learn so much from these assemblies.
Nepal Talk
On Tuesday Helen and Philip Cox, from our church congregation, visited school to share with the children their experiences of visiting and working with a village school in Nepal. This was a great opportunity for the children to find out about another culture and they listened and responded beautifully.
Oakhill Football Match
Thank you to all who came along and supported the match at Oakhill on Wednesday. Our children all really enjoyed it and we wish to say a big thank you to our coach Rob for organising the match.
Junior Walk
Next Wednesday is the junior walk along the River Calder. Your child should have brought home a separate letter regarding this. Please ensure your child has a warm coat and appropriate footwear.
