Newsletter, 22nd Jan

Dear Parents,

Building Learning Power (BLP)

Next week the word of the week will be reasoning.

Please check your child’s hair this weekend. Thank you.

School Dinners

Next week will be week 3 on the menu sheets.

Mathematics Questionnaires

Thankyou to everyone who has completed and returned the maths questionnaire. As a staff, we have already started looking at them and I will report back to you soon on our findings and any actions we might make in light of your answers. I have also carried out a pupil questionnaire with the pupils this week to get their views on mathematics in school.

Blue Cross Dog Safety Talk

On Wednesday we had an assembly in school about dog safety- each child should have brought a leaflet and sticker home.

Scholastic Book Club

There will be no paper book club leaflet this time as Scholastic are running a trial for online orders. If you wish to place an order please go to the link you will need to pay on line, but any orders will be delivered free to school. The online order will close on 29th January. Thank you.

School Fund Donations

We have for many years asked for £6 per family per term to support activities in school – and many of you have kindly sent this over the years. This amount has not gone up for many years! We would be very pleased to receive your donation as soon as possible, if you are able. This money goes towards all the extras – such as subsidising school trips and all the little extra treats.

Advanced notice

At the end of February our school council are holding a blue bag collection. Please start saving your unwanted clothes/shoes/bedding/towels/toys/teddies. No metal, ceramic or sharp items please. A van will be outside school on the day of the collection to weigh any bags brought. We will then be given a cheque dependant on the weight.

Paper Cube

We have been advised that as it is no longer financially viable for Palm Recycling, we will be loosing our paper cube at the front of school by 29th February.

Have a lovely weekend.
