Every year our school joins with the Clayton schools and churches for a United Advent Carol Service. This year, the service is planned for Thursday 3rd December 7pm in All Saints’ Church, Clayton-le-Moors. We have been practising for this at school already!
We would like your child to sing with the other schools in the joint choir. We need to know if he/she will be available.
On the day itself, your child would have to get to All Saints’ Church and get home as your responsibility. However – the number of children we can take depends on the number of children who we can transport to the practice. Would you be willing to help transport children on Tuesday 1st December at 1pm and return to school for 3.25pm? I regret that I will have to see your current driving licence and insurance document before you can help in this way. Please would you let me know as soon as possible so that we can plan who is able to go?
A considerable number of children have said that they would like to take part. To be as fair as possible, we will take people in the following priority:
- Children who are able to attend the evening service at 7pm on 3 rd December at All Saints.
- Children of parents/grandparents etc who offer help transporting.
- All other children in age order, starting with the oldest (which ensures that by the end of their time in school all children have had the opportunity to join in).
