Building Learning Power (BLP)

This week we are looking at Interdependence (Knowing when to work alone or with others).

 

School Dinners

Next week will be week 3 on your menu choices.

 

Friday After School Club

Please note from next Friday 2 nd October, the Friday after school club will be for juniors only. This will be the arrangement for 10 weeks only, up to and including the 11 th December. After the Christmas break starting on Friday 8 th January, the Friday club will be for infants only for 10 weeks up to and including 18 th March.
At present this arrangement is for the Friday club only.

 

Music Lessons

On a Monday after school we have a music teacher, Mr Bird, who comes in to school to teach brass or guitar. This is a paid activity at £6 per child per leson. We have a number of brass intruments available to hire in school and guitars can be loaned from the music service.

 

Recorders

Mrs Smith will be starting a recorder group on Tuesday lunchtimes, after the half term break. The group will be open to Year 2 children and above. Please sign the permission slip at the bottom of this letter for your child to take part. If you wish to purchase a recorder through school the cost will be £5. Please send in payment with your slip.

 

Information Sheets

Data collection sheets have been sent home this week. Please check all information is up to date, then sign and return to school as soon as possible.

 

Flora Tubs 4 Tablets

School are registered to collect tokens from special Flora packs on sale at Tesco stores. We need 50 for each tablet. Please send any clean tokens into school as soon as possible, the closing date is 18 th December. Thank you.

 

Macmillian Cancer Appeal

Coffee and cakes will be available after the church on Sunday 27 TH September. All monies raised will go to the Macmillian Cancer appeal.

 

Scholastic Book Club

Please return all order forms along with payment by 30 th September. Thank you.

 

Reading Workshop

There will be a reading workshop for parents on Wednesday 7 th October at 3.30pm. The aim of the workshop is to provide parents with information on how to help their children with reading at home. If you are unable to attend the meeting, but would like some information, please contact the school or speak to Mrs Bellard who will be leading the meeting.

  • Friday 2 nd October- School Harvest Service at St. Altham’s Church. Children to be taken straight to church for service to start at 9am
  • Wednesday 7 th October- Reading Workshop
  • Thursday 8 th October St Christopher’s open evening 6:00-8:00pm.
  • Monday 19 th October- Y1-Y6 Parent’s Evening 3.30-5.30pm
  • Tuesday 20th October- Reception Parent’s Evening 3.30-5.00pm
