Diary For This Term

Here are some important dates for this term: further information about each event will be given nearer the time.

  • Week of 12th May Assessment Weeks begin (see below).
  • Thurs/Fri 15th/16th May Life Education Van in School.
  • Friday 23rd May School Photographer here; School closes for half term.
  • Monday 2nd June School re-opens.
  • Friday 6th June Junior Trip to Ingleborough Caves (provisional date).
  • Sunday 8th June Governors’ Plant Sale (see below).
  • Friday 13th June Infant Trip to Sea Life Centre (provisional date).
  • Tuesday 24th June Swimming Gala 7.30pm.
  • Friday 4th July Reports Issued.
  • Sunday 6th July Anniversary & Leavers’ Service in church 9.30am.
  • Wednesday 9th July Parents’ Open Evening.
  • Mon-Wed 14th-16th July Robinwood (Juniors – see below).
  • Sunday 20th July Summer Fayre.
  • Monday 21st July Sports Afternoon (weather permitting).
  • Tuesday 22nd July Presentation Assembly 2pm. School closes for Summer.


Assessment Weeks: Starting May 12th.

  • National SATS Testing for Year 6 starts in two weeks on May 12th. For these children an additional explanation sheet was sent home last week.
  • We also use the same week and the following week to administer tests to all other children so that we can monitor their progress, report to you, and determine how best to address their needs. We try to keep these tests fairly low key, but you may be aware they are going on. Please ensure that your child is in school during these test weeks.



A reminder that the remaining balance needs to be paid by the half term break, at the end of May.


Governors’ Fund Raising Committee

Plant Sale will be held on Sunday 8th June, please hold off buying your plants!!!!
Also at the plant sale will be a plate garden competition – get your thinking caps on!!


Community Notices:

1st Clayton le Moors All Saints Beavers Group

Next Thursday 8th May will be the first meeting of this group to be held in our school. The group is open to children age 6 – 8 years and will be held from 6 – 7 pm weekly on a Thursday. If you would like your child to join please speak to Claire Rothwell on 07769291420.

Readstone United Football Club
The above club are looking for new players for Under 7s, Under 8s and Under 9 teams. Any child, boy or girl, who will be 6 or 7 and are under 8 or 9 on 31st August this year, are asked to turn up for training at Read School field on Saturday mornings between 9:30 and 11am. Tea & Toddlers (in church).

On the third Wednesday of every month at 9.30am , the church will be running Tea & Toddlers Group for pre-school age children and their adult!! You are very welcome to take your child there after dropping older ones at school – and invite other people. The first session will be on Wednesday 21st May at 9.30am.
