Newsletter, 14th March

Dear Parents

Tuesdays in Lent – Reminder

Each Tuesday in Lent, school will meet at church for our series of Lent Services. You are more than welcome to attend these services, and the church is kindly offering tea, coffee and biscuits after the children have left to any parents who attend.

Supermarket Vouchers & Nestle Box Tops

  • We have been advised that Nestle Boxtops scheme will be finishing at the end of March. Please check your cereal packets and if you have any vouchers send them into school as soon as possible.
  • Sainsburys are presently giving out Active Kids vouchers; we are collecting these. Please send any into school. Thank you.

NUT/NASUWT Strike Action – School Unaffected

The two unions mentioned above are in dispute with the Government nationally, and as such have called a national day of strike on Wednesday 26th March. Whilst it is any employee’s right to withdraw their labour at no notice, to the best of my knowledge this school will not be affected by strike action and will continue as normal.

Altham School Gardening

We have recently bought a polytunnel (which will be up and running very soon) for growing our own fruit, veg and flowers, and the children will be taking part in doing this. To locate it, we have had to move some of our raised flower beds. If you have any spare seedlings, or other plants, please would you consider donating them to school. We also need supplies of compost to refill the relocated raised beds. Your help would be appreciated!

If you are not up to date with the latest instalment for our Robinwood holiday, please could you bring your payments up to date before the next instalment becomes due at Easter.

Yours sincerely

Peter Williams
